{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53d-2-302","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53D-2-302","heading":"Advocacy office governance -- Advocacy council creation, role, and duties.","body":"(1) There is created the School and Institutional Trust Beneficiaries' Advocacy Council.\n(2) The advocacy council shall:\n(a) oversee the activities of the advocacy office and advise the advocacy director;\n(b) establish, update, and monitor the implementation of comprehensive strategic planning for the advocacy office;\n(c) submit advocacy director candidate names to the state treasurer subject to Subsection 53D-2-401(1)(a);\n(d) determine the advocacy director's compensation and annually review the compensation and performance of the advocacy director as part of the council's budget review process;\n(e) make rules for the advocacy office in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act;\n(f) receive reports, including the annual report described in Subsection 53D-2-402(2)(m), from the advocacy director;\n(g) participate on the nominating committees of the trustee agencies as described in Subsections 53C-1-203(2)(a) and 53D-1-501(2)(b); and\n(h) develop policies and directives for the management of the advocacy office.","path":["Title 53D School and Institutional Trust Fund Management and Land Trusts Protection and Advocacy Office","Chapter 53D-2 School And Institutional Trust Beneficiaries' Advocacy Act","Part 53D-2-3 School And Institutional Beneficiaries' Advocacy Office Governance"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53D/Chapter2/53D-2-S302.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"8bdf57f23294556778bc226548be009ea980404382a8ffebcb75d0e85e3fe99d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53d-2-301","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53d-2-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
