{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-3-902","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53E-3-902","heading":"Article I -- Purpose.","body":"It is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to educational success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents by:\n(1) facilitating the timely enrollment of children of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty in the transfer of education records from the previous school district or variations in entrance or age requirements;\n(2) facilitating the student placement process through which children of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling, sequencing, grading, course content, or assessment;\n(3) facilitating the qualification and eligibility for enrollment, educational programs, and participation in extracurricular academic, athletic, and social activities;\n(4) facilitating the on-time graduation of children of military families;\n(5) providing for the promulgation and enforcement of administrative rules implementing the provisions of this compact;\n(6) providing for the uniform collection and sharing of information between and among member states, schools, and military families under this compact;\n(7) promoting coordination between this compact and other compacts affecting military children; and\n(8) promoting flexibility and cooperation between the educational system, parents, and the student in order to achieve educational success for the student.","path":["Title 53E Public Education System -- State Administration","Chapter 53E-3 State Board of Education Organization, Powers, and Duties","Part 53E-3-9 Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53E/Chapter3/53E-3-S902.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2428142b9e22c2acd7cce1d16ed7e7bec9be396de438941aa04de07b6d73ffd5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-3-901","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-3-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
