{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-4-314","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53E-4-314","heading":"School readiness assessment.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"School readiness assessment\" means a preschool assessment that:\n(i) measures literacy and numeracy; and\n(ii) beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, measures growth from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.\n(b) \"School readiness program\" means a preschool program:\n(i) in which a student participates in the year before the student is expected to enroll in kindergarten; and\n(ii) that receives funding under Title 35A, Chapter 15, Preschool Programs.\n(2) The state board shall develop or select a school readiness assessment.\n(3) A school readiness program shall:\n(a) administer to each student who participates in the school readiness program the school readiness assessment at the beginning and end of the student's participation in the school readiness program; and\n(b) report the results of the assessments described in Subsection (3)(a) to the state board.\n(4) A private care provider or an LEA on behalf of a school that is not participating in the High Quality Readiness Grant Program, as described in Section 35A-15-301 or 35A-15-302, may submit school readiness assessment data to the state board.","path":["Title 53E Public Education System -- State Administration","Chapter 53E-4 Academic Standards, Assessments, and Materials","Part 53E-4-3 Assessments"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53E/Chapter4/53E-4-S314.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"ab4edb6cf7b08396687a0708f566da35d5d0a2ed4d3459a7cea096ec0be8b8ee","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-4-313","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-4-315"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
