{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-5-205","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53E-5-205","heading":"Indicators for elementary and middle schools.","body":"For an elementary school or a middle school, the state board shall assign the school's overall rating, in accordance with Section 53E-5-207, based on the school's performance on the following indicators:\n(1) academic achievement as measured by performance on a statewide assessment of English language arts, mathematics, and science;\n(2) academic growth as measured by progress from year to year on a statewide assessment of English language arts, mathematics, and science; and\n(3) equitable educational opportunity as measured by:\n(a) academic growth of the lowest performing 25% of students as measured by progress of the lowest performing 25% of students on a statewide assessment of English language arts, mathematics, and science; and\n(b) except as provided in Section 53E-5-209, English learner progress as measured by performance on an English learner assessment established by the state board.","path":["Title 53E Public Education System -- State Administration","Chapter 53E-5 Accountability","Part 53E-5-2 School Accountability System"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53E/Chapter5/53E-5-S205.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"8c45bf4fcbc24072d26e9edae0859eeab63be61b3d118d6e4e483d39ebb25854","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-5-204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53e-5-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
