{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53f-5-401","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53F-5-401","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Eligible elementary school\" or \"eligible junior high school\" means a district school or charter school that has at least 50% of the school's students with a family income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.\n(2) \"Eligible partnership\" means a partnership that:\n(a) includes at least:\n(i) a local education agency that has designated an eligible school feeder pattern;\n(ii) a local nonprofit organization;\n(iii) a private business;\n(iv) a municipality or county in which the eligible school feeder pattern is located;\n(v) an institution of higher education within the state;\n(vi) a state or local government agency that provides services to students attending schools within the eligible school feeder pattern;\n(vii) a local philanthropic organization; and\n(viii) a local health care organization; and\n(b) has designated a local education agency or local nonprofit organization to act as lead applicant for a grant described in this part.\n(3) \"Eligible school feeder pattern\" means the succession of schools that a student enrolls in as the student progresses from kindergarten through grade 12 that includes, as designated by a local education agency:\n(a) a high school;\n(b) an eligible junior high school that:\n(i) is a district school within the geographic boundary of the high school described in Subsection (3)(a); or\n(ii) is a charter school that sends at least 50% of the charter school's students to the high school described in Subsection (3)(a); and\n(c) an eligible elementary school that:\n(i) is a district school within the geographic boundary of the high school described in Subsection (3)(a); or\n(ii) is a charter school that sends at least 50% of the charter school's students to the junior high school described in Subsection (3)(b).\n(4) \"Local education agency\" means a school district or charter school.","path":["Title 53F Public Education System -- Funding","Chapter 53F-5 State Funding -- Initiative Grant Programs","Part 53F-5-4 Partnerships for Student Success Grant Program"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53F/Chapter5/53F-5-S401.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"801b39e11be6cb2be267bd28be4e1d0f4989a04aaa6df3d9a28af56bc143c2a2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53f-5-226","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53f-5-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
