{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-11-518","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-11-518","heading":"State board to make rules on performance compensation.","body":"(1) In accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, the state board shall make rules requiring a school district's employee compensation system to be aligned with the district's annual evaluation system described in Section 53G-11-507.\n(2) The state board shall ensure that rules the state board adopts under Subsection (1):\n(a) establish a timeline for developing and implementing an employee compensation system that is aligned with an annual evaluation system; and\n(b) provide that:\n(i) any advancement on an adopted wage or salary schedule:\n(A) shall be based primarily on an evaluation; and\n(B) may not be based on end-of-level assessment scores; and\n(ii) an employee may not advance on an adopted wage or salary schedule if the employee's rating on the most recent evaluation is at the lowest level of an evaluation instrument.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-11 Employees","Part 53G-11-5 School District and Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind Employee Requirements"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter11/53G-11-S518.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"db981fc0533a64d529cbdfb351a2553333a380504d59cfd9ff06edd4ace194d2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-11-517","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-11-519"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
