{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-4-413","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-4-413","heading":"Required provision of period products in schools.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"period products\" means:\n(a) tampons;\n(b) sanitary napkins; or\n(c) other similar products designed for hygiene in connection with the human menstrual cycle.\n(2) Beginning July 1, 2022, an LEA shall:\n(a) provide period products free of charge to students in each female or unisex restroom within an elementary, middle, junior, or high school or school facility which students use; and\n(b) inform public school students of the availability of the period products as described in this section.\n(3) To address the cost of the requirements of this section, an LEA shall:\n(a) use funds that the Legislature appropriates specifically for the provision of period products; and\n(b) incorporate the provision of period products into local ongoing capital operations and maintenance budgets no later than July 1, 2025.\n(4) The state board shall:\n(a) oversee the implementation of the requirements of this section; and\n(b) monitor compliance with this section.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-4 School Districts","Part 53G-4-4 Local School Board Powers and Miscellaneous Duties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter4/53G-4-S413.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"17b6c994b2b63d76994ae8f80adcfe3993db77b851bfa3ef2eff14de62902c14","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-4-412","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-4-414"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
