{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-5-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-5-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Asset\" means property of all kinds, real and personal, tangible and intangible, and includes:\n(a) cash;\n(b) stock or other investments;\n(c) real property;\n(d) equipment and supplies;\n(e) an ownership interest;\n(f) a license;\n(g) a cause of action; and\n(h) any similar property.\n(2) \"Charter school authorizer\" or \"authorizer\" means an entity listed in Section 53G-5-205 that authorizes a charter school.\n(3) \"Institution of higher education board of trustees\" or \"board of trustees\" means:\n(a) the board of trustees of:\n(i) the University of Utah;\n(ii) Utah State University;\n(iii) Weber State University;\n(iv) Southern Utah University;\n(v) Snow College;\n(vi) Utah Tech University;\n(vii) Utah Valley University; or\n(viii) Salt Lake Community College;\n(b) a technical college board of trustees described in Section 53H-3-205; or\n(c) a board of trustees of a private, nonprofit college or university in the state that is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-5 Charter Schools","Part 53G-5-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter5/53G-5-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"dc522e2b94265b6b6dd135bc76ccfed177cff3bd4f4550a1ca454e0d42d0036d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-5-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-5-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
