{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-5-406.5","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-5-406.5","heading":"Oath of office for charter school governing board members.","body":"(1) Before entering upon the duties of office, each charter school governing board member shall take and subscribe to the following oath: \"I do solemnly swear that I will support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Utah, and that I will discharge the duties of my office as a charter school governing board member with fidelity.\"\n(2) The charter school's authorizer shall ensure the oath is administered by:\n(a) in accordance with Section 78B-1-142, any person authorized to administer oaths;\n(b) for a newly authorized charter school, a representative of the charter school's authorizer; or\n(c) after the initial board is sworn in, the chair or another member of the charter school governing board.\n(3) The charter school shall:\n(a) in accordance with Subsection 51-1-2(2), maintain a record of each governing board member's oath; and\n(b) provide proof of compliance to the charter school's authorizer upon request.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-5 Charter Schools","Part 53G-5-4 Powers and Duties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter5/53G-5-S406.5.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"114103c8541e5cffaa4ea448d14d1c791bca42c51a4872e63b7a74b37a5c72a0","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-5-406","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-5-407"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
