{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-214","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-6-214","heading":"Data quality and monitoring requirements.","body":"(1) An LEA shall:\n(a) ensure the LEA's student information system accurately captures and reports student enrollment, attendance, and membership data; and\n(b) conduct an annual internal review of attendance data accuracy.\n(2) The state board shall:\n(a) establish minimum standards for LEA attendance data quality;\n(b) conduct periodic audits of LEA attendance data;\n(c) provide technical assistance to an LEA with data quality issues;\n(d) publish annual reports on statewide attendance trends and data quality; and\n(e) implement corrective action procedures for an LEA that fails to meet data quality standards.\n(3) An LEA that fails to meet state data quality standards shall:\n(a) develop and implement a corrective action plan within 60 days and submit the plan to the state board;\n(b) submit monthly progress reports to the state board until compliance is achieved; and\n(c) as the state board determines, be subject to withholding of state funding until compliance is demonstrated.\n(4) Notwithstanding Subsection 53G-6-214(3), an LEA may not be subject to corrective action procedures or withholding of state funding under Subsection 53G-6-214(3) if the LEA's only failure to meet state data quality standards relates to the tracking or reporting of excused absences as described in Subsection 53G-6-206(8)(a).","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-6 Participation in Public Schools","Part 53G-6-2 Compulsory Education"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter6/53G-6-S214.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"c2ee79064764f529a038356ead7d372b5a907d6e4c79f0d89ee4e9f1498462f4","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-213","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
