{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-801","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-6-801","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Federal law\" means:\n(a) a statute passed by the Congress of the United States; or\n(b) a final regulation:\n(i) adopted by an administrative agency of the United States government; and\n(ii) published in the code of federal regulations or the federal register.\n(2) \"Reasonably accommodate\" means an LEA shall make its best effort to enable a parent to exercise a parental right specified in Section 53G-6-803:\n(a) without substantial impact to staff and resources, including employee working conditions, safety and supervision on school premises and for school activities, and the efficient allocation of expenditures; and\n(b) while balancing:\n(i) the parental rights of parents;\n(ii) the educational needs of other students;\n(iii) the academic and behavioral impacts to a classroom;\n(iv) a teacher's workload; and\n(v) the assurance of the safe and efficient operation of a school.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-6 Participation in Public Schools","Part 53G-6-8 Parental Rights"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter6/53G-6-S801.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"b9e88272e1fa4577e14407223c6d8fad5658637a9d4e44122c677d625d7c00fb","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-710","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
