{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-804","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-6-804","heading":"Parent access to learning management system for online courses -- Training.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Learning management system\" means a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, or delivery of an online course.\n(b) \"Online course\" means a course that an LEA provides to a student over the Internet.\n(2) An LEA that uses a learning management system for an online course shall provide:\n(a) to the parent of a student enrolled in the online course, access to the learning management system, including, at a minimum:\n(i) the curriculum used for the course; and\n(ii) information about the progress and learning of the parent's student, including assessment results; and\n(b) to a student enrolled in the course and the student's parent, training or orientation to help the student and student's parent understand how to access:\n(i) the learning management system;\n(ii) the online course; and\n(iii) any online tools used to deliver the online course or instruction.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-6 Participation in Public Schools","Part 53G-6-8 Parental Rights"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter6/53G-6-S804.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"55860268a157d773a065880a14128ddb75e0f306fd9f3ec11e79abceef028387","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-803","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-6-805"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
