{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-7-219","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-7-219","heading":"Medical specialists in public schools.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Qualified individual\" means an individual who:\n(i) is employed by an LEA; and\n(ii) provides related services in a school-based setting.\n(b) \"Qualified individual\" includes:\n(i) an audiologist;\n(ii) a speech-language pathologist;\n(iii) a mental health practitioner;\n(iv) a school nurse;\n(v) an occupational therapist; and\n(vi) a physical therapist.\n(c) \"Related services\" means the same as that term is defined in 34 C.F.R. 300.34.\n(2) An LEA may adopt a salary schedule, or salary schedules, for qualified individuals, that:\n(a) is separate from salary schedules adopted for other LEA employees; and\n(b) takes into consideration the market rate for related services provided outside of a school-based setting.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-7 Public School General Requirements","Part 53G-7-2 Powers and Miscellaneous Duties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter7/53G-7-S219.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"9280f80739143323b3ec846acb2df32b1abd87db008ef5582a23bbf0a37d952d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-7-217","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-7-220"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
