{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-7-229","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-7-229","heading":"Resources for a student with a technology-related learning difficulty.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Instructional technology\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 53G-7-228.\n(b)\n(i) \"Technology-related learning difficulty\" means a condition where a student experiences a pattern of difficulty learning through the use of instructional technology.\n(ii) \"Technology-related learning difficulty\" does not include a temporary or situational difficulty with technology use that is unrelated to a learning need that is:\n(A) diagnosed; or\n(B) identifiable.\n(2) An LEA shall create a resource plan on how to accommodate a student that demonstrates a technology-related learning difficulty.\n(3) An LEA may:\n(a) provide additional resources and accommodations to a student that demonstrates a technology-related learning difficulty, including:\n(i) access to printed materials;\n(ii) alternative assignment formats;\n(iii) access to a technology resource center;\n(iv) access to an educational professional with expertise in technology and technology-related learning difficulties; and\n(v) extra time for technology-based tasks; and\n(b) provide a student with a technology-related learning difficulty access to alternative learning pathways, including:\n(i) hands-on, project-based learning;\n(ii) book-based curriculum; and\n(iii) verbal instruction.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-7 Public School General Requirements","Part 53G-7-2 Powers and Miscellaneous Duties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter7/53G-7-S229.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"387dc0f752da3aa1bcf258a2ec542b597e59a61ff1461dbfee29e635fde1758e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-7-228","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-7-230"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
