{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-8-902","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53G-8-902","heading":"LEA compliance with cybersecurity standards -- Coordination.","body":"(1) An LEA shall comply with the minimum cybersecurity standards established by the Cybersecurity Commission created in Section 63C-27-201 in rule made in accordance with Subsection 63C-27-202(9).\n(2) An LEA shall comply with the minimum cybersecurity standards according to the phased implementation timeline established in rule under Subsection 63C-27-202(9).\n(3) UETN, in consultation with the Cyber Center and the state board, shall:\n(a) develop implementation guidelines and technical resources to assist LEAs in meeting the minimum cybersecurity standards;\n(b) provide technical assistance and support to LEAs; and\n(c) coordinate the provision of cybersecurity services and resources to LEAs.\n(4)\n(a) The Cyber Center, the state board, and UETN shall coordinate services to LEAs to:\n(i) avoid duplication of efforts;\n(ii) maximize the effectiveness of cybersecurity resources;\n(iii) ensure LEAs receive consistent guidance and support; and\n(iv) facilitate information sharing regarding cybersecurity threats and best practices.\n(b) The coordination required under Subsection (4)(a) shall include:\n(i) regular meetings among the entities to discuss LEA cybersecurity needs and initiatives;\n(ii) joint development of training materials and resources;\n(iii) coordinated response to cybersecurity incidents affecting LEAs; and\n(iv) alignment of cybersecurity standards and network infrastructure requirements.","path":["Title 53G Public Education System -- Local Administration","Chapter 53G-8 Discipline and Safety","Part 53G-8-9 LEA Cybersecurity Standards"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53G/Chapter8/53G-8-S902.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"5ef574cdc23e3f89208bb5c31d5e797f9c4d51c6f87305e09f6bfc1e8b79aa1b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-8-901","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53g-8-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
