{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-1-205","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53H-1-205","heading":"Board Member Qualifications.","body":"(1) The board shall develop qualifications for the composition of the board to ensure that combined, the board members have:\n(a) a range of experience, including experience in industry;\n(b) varied areas of expertise; and\n(c) varied geographic representation.\n(2) In developing the qualifications, the board shall consider:\n(a) expertise in:\n(i) business or industry;\n(ii) technical education;\n(iii) general education; and\n(iv) advanced education and research;\n(b) geographic representation; and\n(c) knowledge or experience in a field including:\n(i) finance;\n(ii) accounting or auditing;\n(iii) law;\n(iv) facilities or real estate;\n(v) educational delivery models;\n(vi) workforce development;\n(vii) economic development;\n(viii) kindergarten through grade 12 education; and\n(ix) educational quality assessment.\n(3) The board shall consult with the governor to develop the qualifications described in this section.","path":["Title 53H Higher Education","Chapter 53H-1 System of Higher Education","Part 53H-1-2 Utah Board of Higher Education"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53H/Chapter1/53H-1-S205.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"313698ae4849d0de43e766fe01f04e154009fd640e5ec76f8db45a75077b69b7","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-1-204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-1-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
