{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-13-401","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53H-13-401","heading":"General provisions -- Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Co-op employee\" means a student who participates in a cooperative education program and is employed by a participating cooperative education employer.\n(2) \"Cooperative education employer\" means a business or organization participating in the cooperative education program that provides structured work opportunities for students.\n(3) \"Cooperative education program\" or \"co-op\" means a structured educational pilot program that integrates academic learning with full-time paid work experience aligned with the student's academic discipline and career goals.\n(4) \"High-demand job\" means an occupation or position that:\n(a) has a higher than average projected growth rate in Utah;\n(b) offers wages at or above the state median wage;\n(c) follows star ranking criteria established by the Department of Workforce Services; and\n(d) considers occupations that have a high societal demand and impact.\n(5) \"Participating institution\" means the following institutions of higher education:\n(a) Weber State University;\n(b) University of Utah;\n(c) Southern Utah University;\n(d) Utah State University;\n(e) Utah Tech University; and\n(f) Utah Valley University.\n(6) \"Recent graduate\" means a graduate of a program or degree within a year of completion.\n(7) \"Talent portal\" means the Utah High-Demand Talent Portal created in Section 53H-13-402.\n(8) \"Talent portal administrator\" means the Talent, Education, and Industry Alignment Board created in Section 53H-13-302.\n(9) \"Talent Ready Utah\" means the program within the Utah System of Higher Education established in Section 53H-13-303.","path":["Title 53H Higher Education","Chapter 53H-13 Workforce Development","Part 53H-13-4 Talent Connect"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53H/Chapter13/53H-13-S401.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"fea69f20e0760890479efb29ba216ac25a17c98984f105745c5f49f97ffd154b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-13-312","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-13-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
