{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-3-802","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53H-3-802","heading":"Formation of non-profit corporations or foundations.","body":"(1) An institution of higher education described in Section 53H-1-102 may form a non-profit corporation or foundation to aid or assist the institution of higher education, within the institution of higher education's mission and role described in Section 53H-3-602, in meeting the institution of higher education's charitable, scientific, literary, research, educational, or other objectives.\n(2) The board and the president of the institution of higher education control a nonprofit corporation or foundation described in Subsection (1).\n(3) A nonprofit corporation or foundation described in Subsection (1) may receive and administer:\n(a) legislative appropriations;\n(b) government grants;\n(c) private contracts; or\n(d) private gifts.","path":["Title 53H Higher Education","Chapter 53H-3 Institutions of Higher Education Generally","Part 53H-3-8 Formation of Non-Profit Corporations and Foundations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53H/Chapter3/53H-3-S802.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d36f54aaab64175a80a1a9ce558be66ea205d276acfe90b90e0df9657cc84146","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-3-801","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-3-901"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
