{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-5-402","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53H-5-402","heading":"Multi-University Consortium for Teacher Training in Sensory Impairments -- Purposes -- Appropriation.","body":"(1)\n(a) In conjunction with the board's master plan for higher education, there is established a Multi-University Consortium for Teacher Training in Sensory Impairments which is an outgrowth of a consortium established by the federal government.\n(b) The consortium shall include within its membership the University of Utah, Utah State University, Brigham Young University, the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, the Services for At-Risk Students section under the State Board of Education, and local school districts.\n(2) The consortium, in collaboration with the board and the State Board of Education, shall develop and implement teacher preparation programs that qualify and certify instructors to work with students who are visually impaired, deaf, or hard of hearing, or both visually impaired and deaf or hard of hearing.\n(3) The board shall consider including within the board's annual budget recommendations a line item appropriation to provide ongoing funding for the programs provided pursuant to this section.","path":["Title 53H Higher Education","Chapter 53H-5 Multi-Institution Programs and Initiatives","Part 53H-5-4 Other Multi-Institution Programs and Initiatives"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53H/Chapter5/53H-5-S402.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"128e7b44dcbf21593bced5d27a3f17ec866dfdc36c316908bad2026e4c48ec87","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-5-401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53h-5-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
