{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-54-10a-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 54-10a-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For the purpose of this chapter:\n(1) \"Applicable public utility\" means a public utility in this state for:\n(a) natural gas;\n(b) electricity; or\n(c) telephone.\n(2) \"Committee\" means the Committee of Consumer Services created in Section 54-10a-202.\n(3) \"Director\" means the director of the office appointed under Section 54-10a-201.\n(4) \"Office\" means the Office of Consumer Services created in Section 54-10a-201.\n(5) \"Residential consumer\" is a customer or user of an applicable public utility who maintains a permanent residence within the state.\n(6) \"Small commercial consumer\" is a person conducting a business enterprise, agriculture enterprise, or other enterprise in the state that has:\n(a) less than 25 employees; or\n(b) a gross income less than $1,000,000 annually.","path":["Title 54 Public Utilities","Chapter 54-10a Office of Consumer Services Act","Part 54-10a-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title54/Chapter10a/54-10a-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"55d34e3a9336e19bd309e352fe4b49e8a15edd117805f7410dc5ba732363b90e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-54-10a-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-54-10a-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
