{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-54-4-4.1","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 54-4-4.1","heading":"Rules to govern rates.","body":"(1) The commission may, by rule or order, adopt any method of rate regulation that is:\n(a) consistent with this title;\n(b) in the public interest; and\n(c) just and reasonable.\n(2) In accordance with Subsection (1), a method of rate regulation may include:\n(a) rate designs utilizing:\n(i) volumetric rate components;\n(ii) demand rate components;\n(iii) fixed rate components; and\n(iv) variable rate components;\n(b) rate stabilization methods;\n(c) decoupling methods;\n(d) incentive-based mechanisms; and\n(e) other components, methods, or mechanisms approved by the commission.","path":["Title 54 Public Utilities","Chapter 54-4 Authority of Commission Over Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title54/Chapter4/54-4-S4.1.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"8636e2fb5fcc4052fce37569f97e09ae40fbcca5abb227b9b2ffa37be5a87d93","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-54-4-4","next":"us-ut/utah-code-54-4-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
