{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-57-10-4","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 57-10-4","heading":"Legal effect of descriptions using coordinate values.","body":"(1) A description of the location of a survey station or land boundary corner within the state is complete, legal, and sufficient if the description uses the Utah Plane Coordinate System.\n(2) A person may not describe real property for purposes of sale or title transfer solely by reference to coordinate values from the Utah Plane Coordinate System or any other coordinate system.\n(3) If a person uses coordinates from the Utah Plane Coordinate System in a land description, the coordinates supplement the underlying description that relates to recognized monuments and land lines of record.\n(4) If a conflict exists between a description that references a subdivision, line, or corner of the United States public land surveys and a description that uses coordinates, the description that references the subdivision, line, or corner of the United States public land surveys prevail.","path":["Title 57 Real Estate","Chapter 57-10 Utah Coordinate System"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title57/Chapter10/57-10-S4.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"5d7aca4a8c2f5ab4bae271454d27cbbe55b5abe7875dc68c157d15a3b04d06bc","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-57-10-3","next":"us-ut/utah-code-57-10-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
