{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-11a-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-11a-201","heading":"Board.","body":"(1) There is created the Cosmetology and Associated Professions Licensing Board consisting of the following members:\n(a)\n(i) one cosmetologist; or\n(ii) one cosmetologist instructor;\n(b)\n(i) one master esthetician; or\n(ii) one master esthetician instructor;\n(c)\n(i) one nail technician; or\n(ii) one nail technician instructor;\n(d)\n(i) one electrologist; or\n(ii) one electrologist instructor;\n(e) one representative of a licensed school that is publicly funded;\n(f) one representative of a licensed school that is privately funded;\n(g) one supervisor as defined in Section 58-1-505; and\n(h) two members from the general public.\n(2)\n(a) The board shall be appointed and serve in accordance with Section 58-1-201.\n(b) Except for the members specified in Subsections (1)(e) and (1)(f), a member may not participate as a representative of a licensed school.\n(3)\n(a) The board shall perform the duties and responsibilities described in Sections 58-1-202 and 58-1-203.\n(b) The board shall designate one of the board members on a permanent or rotating basis to:\n(i) assist the division in reviewing complaints concerning the unlawful or unprofessional conduct of a licensee; and\n(ii) advise the division in the division's investigation of these complaints.\n(4) A board member who has, under Subsection (3), reviewed a complaint or advised in the investigation of the complaint may be disqualified from participating with the board when the board serves as a presiding officer in an adjudicative proceeding concerning the complaint.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-11a Cosmetology and Associated Professions Licensing Act","Part 58-11a-2 Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter11a/58-11a-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"83323cdfdd99f84236c7d48d5a0ae8125a5f4f45ba37366d5c48fa16bfcbc260","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-11a-103","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-11a-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
