{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-1004","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-17b-1004","heading":"Authorization to dispense an injectable epinephrine rescue medication, glucagon kit, and stock albuterol pursuant to a standing order.","body":"(1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, a pharmacist or pharmacy intern may dispense an injectable epinephrine rescue medication:\n(a)\n(i) to a qualified adult for use in accordance with Title 26B, Chapter 4, Part 4, School Health; or\n(ii) to a qualified injectable epinephrine rescue medication entity for use in accordance with Title 26B, Chapter 4, Part 4, School Health;\n(b) pursuant to a standing prescription drug order made in accordance with Section 58-17b-1005;\n(c) without any other prescription drug order from a person licensed to prescribe an injectable epinephrine rescue medication; and\n(d) in accordance with the dispensing guidelines in Section 58-17b-1006.\n(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, a pharmacist or pharmacy intern may dispense a glucagon kit:\n(a)\n(i) to a qualified adult for use in accordance with Title 26B, Chapter 4, Part 4, School Health; or\n(ii) to a qualified glucagon kit entity for use in accordance with Title 26B, Chapter 4, Part 4, School Health;\n(b) pursuant to a standing prescription drug order made in accordance with Section 58-17b-1005;\n(c) without any other prescription drug order from a person licensed to prescribe a glucagon kit; and\n(d) in accordance with the dispensing guidelines in Section 58-17b-1006.\n(3) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, a pharmacist or pharmacy intern may dispense stock albuterol:\n(a)\n(i) to a qualified adult for use in accordance with Title 26B, Chapter 4, Part 4, School Health; or\n(ii) to a qualified stock albuterol entity for use in accordance with Title 26B, Chapter 4, Part 4, School Health;\n(b) pursuant to a standing prescription drug order made in accordance with Section 58-17b-1005;\n(c) without any other prescription drug order from a person licensed to prescribe stock albuterol; and\n(d) in accordance with the dispensing guidelines in Section 58-17b-1006.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-17b Pharmacy Practice Act","Part 58-17b-10 Epinephrine Auto-injector and Stock Albuterol Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter17b/58-17b-S1004.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"36448aff1697f20ac2a4f1db8e0046b0e9d29a900ee60148a08d9138792318f5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-1003","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-1005"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
