{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-1006","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-17b-1006","heading":"Guidelines for dispensing an injectable epinephrine rescue medication, glucagon kit, and stock albuterol.","body":"(1) A pharmacist or pharmacy intern who dispenses an injectable epinephrine rescue medication under this part shall, at a minimum, provide patient counseling to the qualified adult or qualified epinephrine rescue medication entity to whom the epinephrine rescue medication is dispensed regarding:\n(a) the appropriate administration and storage of the injectable epinephrine rescue medication;\n(b) potential side effects and risks of the injectable epinephrine rescue medication; and\n(c) when to seek emergency medical attention.\n(2) A pharmacist or pharmacy intern who dispenses a glucagon kit under this part shall, at minimum, provide patient counseling to the qualified adult or qualified glucagon kit entity to whom the glucagon kit is dispensed regarding:\n(a) the appropriate administration and storage of the glucagon kit;\n(b) potential side effects and risks of the glucagon kit; and\n(c) when to seek emergency medical attention.\n(3) A pharmacist or pharmacy intern who dispenses stock albuterol under this part shall, at a minimum, provide patient counseling to the qualified adult or qualified stock albuterol entity to whom the stock albuterol is dispensed regarding:\n(a) the appropriate administration and storage of the stock albuterol;\n(b) potential side effects and risks of the stock albuterol; and\n(c) when to seek emergency medical attention.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-17b Pharmacy Practice Act","Part 58-17b-10 Epinephrine Auto-injector and Stock Albuterol Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter17b/58-17b-S1006.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a97c1a8154b11c7415481753f05e63b81dc3f632072ffbad3bee527892523e23","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-1005","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-1007"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
