{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-625","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-17b-625","heading":"Administration of a long-acting injectable and naloxone.","body":"(1) A pharmacist may, in accordance with this section, administer a drug described in Subsection (2).\n(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection 58-17b-102(58)(c)(ii)(B), the division shall make rules in collaboration with the board and, when appropriate, the Medical Licensing Board created in Section 58-67-201, and in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, to establish training for a pharmacist to administer naloxone and long-acting injectables intramuscularly.\n(3) A pharmacist may not administer naloxone or a long-acting injectable intramuscularly unless the pharmacist:\n(a) completes the training described in Subsection (2);\n(b) administers the drug at a clinic or community pharmacy, as those terms are defined by the division, by administrative rule made in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and\n(c) is directed by the physician, as that term is defined in Section 58-67-102 or Section 58-68-102, who issues the prescription to administer the drug.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-17b Pharmacy Practice Act","Part 58-17b-6 Regulation of the Practice of Pharmacy Operating Standards"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter17b/58-17b-S625.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"b8469a46daff09a2a20bf4aa1fa011610c4cfff0b0de152c046895a09fc685b9","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-624","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-17b-627"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
