{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-24b-405","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-24b-405","heading":"Animal physical therapy.","body":"(1) Subject to Subsection 58-28-307(12)(b), a licensed physical therapist may practice animal physical therapy if the licensed physical therapist completes at least 100 hours of animal physical therapy training and education, which shall include:\n(a) 50 hours of on-the-job training under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian;\n(b) completion of a quadruped anatomy course; and\n(c) continuing education for the required hours remaining.\n(2) Subject to Subsection 58-28-307(12)(b), a licensed physical therapist assistant may practice animal physical therapy, within the scope of the licensed physical therapist assistant's practice, if the licensed physical therapist assistant:\n(a) is under the on-site supervision or general supervision of a physical therapist who has complied with the requirements of Subsection (1); and\n(b) completes at least 100 hours of animal physical therapy training and education, which shall include:\n(i) 50 hours of on-the-job training under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian;\n(ii) completion of a quadruped anatomy course; and\n(iii) continuing education for the required hours remaining.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-24b Physical Therapy Practice Act","Part 58-24b-4 Practice of Physical Therapy"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter24b/58-24b-S405.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"355ab8a28824edaa1355b606fc90a9da8ebde6ecc40c8538327dcdd3e80efade","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-24b-404","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-24b-501"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
