{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-24b-501","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-24b-501","heading":"Unlawful conduct.","body":"In addition to the conduct described in Subsection 58-1-501(1), \"unlawful conduct\" includes:\n(1) practicing physical therapy, unless the person:\n(a) is licensed under this chapter to practice physical therapy and practices within the scope of that license; or\n(b) is exempt from licensure under Section 58-24b-304;\n(2) practicing animal physical therapy, unless the person is:\n(a) authorized to practice animal physical therapy under Section 58-24b-405; or\n(b) authorized to practice animal physical therapy under Subsection 58-24b-304(1)(a), (2), or (3);\n(3) representing oneself as, or using the title of, a physical therapist, unless the person is:\n(a) a licensed physical therapist; or\n(b)\n(i) licensed as a physical therapist in a jurisdiction other than Utah;\n(ii) does not represent oneself as being a physical therapist licensed in Utah; and\n(iii) exempt from licensure under Section 58-24b-304;\n(4) representing oneself as, or using the title of, a physical therapist assistant, unless the person:\n(a) is a licensed physical therapist assistant; or\n(b)\n(i) is licensed as a physical therapist assistant in a jurisdiction other than Utah;\n(ii) does not represent oneself as being a physical therapist assistant licensed in Utah; and\n(iii) is exempt from licensure under Section 58-24b-304; and\n(5) conduct designated as \"unlawful conduct\" by the division, by rule.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-24b Physical Therapy Practice Act","Part 58-24b-5 Unlawful and Unprofessional Conduct"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter24b/58-24b-S501.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0a1a945df0e2d2610e8c4baecf396f9ba9f49eef442867c36b76e84514450031","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-24b-405","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-24b-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
