{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-37c-203","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-37c-203","heading":"Possession or sale of crystal iodine -- Penalty.","body":"(1) A person licensed to engage in a regulated transaction is guilty of a class B misdemeanor if, under circumstances not amounting to a violation of Subsection 76-18-506(2)(c), the person offers to sell, sells, or distributes more than two ounces of crystal iodine to another person who is:\n(a) not licensed as a regulated purchaser of crystal iodine;\n(b) not excepted from licensure; or\n(c) not excepted under Subsection (3).\n(2) A person who is not licensed to engage in regulated transactions and not excepted from licensure is guilty of a class A misdemeanor if, under circumstances not amounting to a violation of Subsection 58-37c-101(11)(k) or Subsection 76-18-506(2)(a), the person:\n(a) possesses more than two ounces of crystal iodine; or\n(b) offers to sell, sells, or distributes crystal iodine to another person.\n(3) Subsection (2)(a) does not apply to:\n(a) a chemistry laboratory maintained by:\n(i) a public or private regularly established secondary school; or\n(ii) a public or private institution of higher education that is accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education;\n(b) a veterinarian licensed to practice under Title 58, Chapter 28, Veterinary Practice Act; or\n(c) a general acute hospital.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-37c Controlled Substance Precursors","Part 58-37c-2 Provisions Concerning Specific Precursors"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter37c/58-37c-S203.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d6e78e0b6c63ad4a3e4c14bc7cb87d7dd1c019e748391d78a7ef2ddd22afaff8","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-37c-202","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-37c-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
