The committee consists of:\n(1) the director of the Department of Health and Human Services or the director's designee;\n(2) the State Medical Examiner or the examiner's designee;\n(3) the commissioner of the Department of Public Safety or the commissioner's designee;\n(4) the director of the Bureau of Forensic Services created in Section 53-10-401, or the director's designee;\n(5) the director of the Utah Poison Control Center or the director's designee;\n(6) one physician who is a member of the Medical Licensing Board and is designated by that board;\n(7) one pharmacist who is a member of the Utah State Board of Pharmacy and is designated by that board;\n(8) one dentist who is a member of the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Licensing Board and is designated by that board;\n(9) one physician who is currently licensed and practicing in the state, to be appointed by the governor;\n(10) one psychiatrist who is currently licensed and practicing in the state, to be appointed by the governor;\n(11) one individual with expertise in substance abuse addiction, to be appointed by the governor;\n(12) one representative from the Statewide Association of Prosecutors, to be designated by that association;\n(13) one naturopathic physician who is currently licensed and practicing in the state, to be appointed by the governor;\n(14) one advanced practice registered nurse who is currently licensed and practicing in this state, to be appointed by the governor; and\n(15) one member of the public, to be appointed by the governor.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-38a Controlled Substances Advisory Committee Act","Part 58-38a-2 Controlled Substances Advisory Committee"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter38a/58-38a-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e56f1e27883bc116009ed8b67b4e431583e554db55b1c799b625dfc16c2ff2c0","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-38a-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-38a-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
