{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-42a-307","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-42a-307","heading":"Dry needling -- Experience required -- Registration.","body":"(1) An occupational therapist may practice dry needling if the occupational therapist:\n(a) has a valid license to practice occupational therapy under this chapter;\n(b) has successfully completed a course in dry needling that is:\n(i) approved by the division; and\n(ii) at least 304 total course hours, including a minimum of:\n(A) 54 hours of in-person instruction; and\n(B) 250 supervised patient treatment hours;\n(c) files a certificate of completion of the course described in Subsection (1)(b) with the division;\n(d) registers with the division as a dry needling practitioner; and\n(e) meets any other requirement to practice dry needling established by the division.\n(2) The division shall make rules, in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, that establish:\n(a) the criteria for approving a course described in Subsection (1)(b); and\n(b) the requirements described in Subsection (1)(e).\n(3) The division may charge, in accordance with Section 63J-1-504, a fee for the registration described in Subsection (1)(d).","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-42a Occupational Therapy Practice Act","Part 58-42a-3 Licensing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter42a/58-42a-S307.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"5eb4c1f06f918a3c2995837b364cf138be3041a02786e32ca31f2c247b054c7e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-42a-306","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-42a-308"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
