{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-46a-302","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-46a-302","heading":"Qualifications for licensure.","body":"(1) Each applicant for licensure as a hearing instrument specialist shall:\n(a) submit an application to the division on a form the division approves;\n(b) pay a fee to the division as determined under Section 63J-1-504;\n(c) pass an appropriate entry-level examination the division approves by rule in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act;\n(d) complete at least six months of training with a supervising hearing instrument specialist or supervising audiologist;\n(e) pass the Utah Hearing Instrument Specialists Law and Rule Examination; and\n(f) if the applicant holds a hearing instrument intern license, surrender the hearing instrument intern license at the time of licensure as a hearing instrument specialist.\n(2) Each applicant for licensure as a hearing instrument intern shall:\n(a) submit an application to the division on a form the division approves;\n(b) pay a fee to the division as determined under Section 63J-1-504;\n(c) pass the Utah Law and Rules Examination for Hearing Instrument Specialists; and\n(d) present evidence acceptable to the division that the applicant, when licensed, will practice as a hearing instrument intern under the supervision of a supervising hearing instrument specialist or supervising audiologist in accordance with Section 58-46a-302.5.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-46a Hearing Instrument Specialist Licensing Act","Part 58-46a-3 Licensing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter46a/58-46a-S302.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"61d3467e9d1bfd673e108ad52c7d394ef0afaf905fb07dac75a550c279f3e584","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-46a-301","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-46a-302.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
