{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-47b-201","heading":"Board.","body":"(1) There is created the Board of Massage Therapy and Acupuncture consisting of:\n(a) four massage therapists;\n(b) two licensed acupuncturists as defined in Section 58-72-102; and\n(c) one member of the general public.\n(2) The board shall be appointed and serve in accordance with Section 58-1-201.\n(3)\n(a) The board shall perform the duties and responsibilities described in Sections 58-1-202 and 58-1-203 with respect to this chapter and Chapter 72, Acupuncture Licensing Act.\n(b) In addition, the board shall designate one of the board's members on a permanent or rotating basis to:\n(i) assist the division in reviewing complaints concerning the conduct of an individual licensed under this chapter or Chapter 72, Acupuncture Licensing Act; and\n(ii) advise the division in the division's investigation of these complaints.\n(4) A board member who has, under Subsection (3), reviewed a complaint or advised in the complaint's investigation may be disqualified from participating with the board when the board serves as a presiding officer in an adjudicative proceeding concerning the complaint.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-47b Massage Therapy Practice Act","Part 58-47b-2 Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter47b/58-47b-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"775f4339e32f7d3ca82d08a22a89d8ddbd9c822683167e641e22545222f86f6c","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
