{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-501","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-47b-501","heading":"Unlawful conduct -- Individuals.","body":"(1) \"Unlawful conduct\" for an individual includes:\n(a) performance of massage services without being a licensed individual or an exempt individual;\n(b) advertisement of or representation of oneself as able to perform massage services when not a licensed individual or an exempt individual;\n(c) performance of massage services outside the scope of what the licensed individual is licensed or registered to perform; or\n(d) while performing massage services, massage, touch, or application of any instrument or device to the:\n(i) genitals;\n(ii) anus; or\n(iii) except as provided in Subsection (2), breasts of a female client.\n(2)\n(a) Subsection (1)(d)(iii) does not apply if a female client:\n(i) requests breast massage, as may be further defined by division rule made in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and\n(ii) subject to Subsection (2)(b), signs a written consent form before each time the procedure is performed.\n(b) If the female client is a minor, the female client's parent or legal guardian shall sign the written consent form described in Subsection (2)(a).","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-47b Massage Therapy Practice Act","Part 58-47b-5 Unlawful and Unprofessional Conduct - Penalties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter47b/58-47b-S501.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d65c77b280522198448dd15b45fa28b089815a08074598426474fa72ab491ccd","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-401.1","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-501.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
