{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-501.1","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-47b-501.1","heading":"Unlawful conduct -- Massage establishments.","body":"\"Unlawful conduct\" for a massage establishment includes:\n(1) operation without a valid registration;\n(2) use of a registered massage establishment as housing, sheltering, or for harboring any individual;\n(3) performance of massage services by an individual who is not licensed or exempt;\n(4) performance of:\n(a) massage services without the individual performing the massage being fully clothed; or\n(b) a sexual act;\n(5) arrangement for a sexual act;\n(6) use or the possession of adult-oriented merchandise while at the registered massage establishment;\n(7) advertisement on a sexually oriented website;\n(8) advertisement of services in a manner that may be reasonably construed as sexual in nature;\n(9) refusal of inspection by the division as authorized under Section 58-47b-601;\n(10) arrangement or allowance of any of the unlawful acts described in Section 58-47b-501;\n(11) failure to immediately report to a local police department any disorderly conduct, sexual acts, or other criminal activity occurring on or within the registered massage establishment's premises;\n(12) concealment of an individual in the massage establishment;\n(13) refusal to provide identification to inspectors or law enforcement; or\n(14) attempt to elude an inspector by leaving the massage establishment or remaining behind locked doors in the massage establishment during an inspection.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-47b Massage Therapy Practice Act","Part 58-47b-5 Unlawful and Unprofessional Conduct - Penalties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter47b/58-47b-S501.1.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"43d0b3ea44721eac97ff26ddd1630573c33da6fcc592cff160bb197470c31378","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-501","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-47b-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
