{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-60-508","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-60-508","heading":"Substance use disorder counselor supervisor's qualifications -- Functions.","body":"(1) A mental health therapist supervisor of a substance use disorder counselor shall:\n(a) be qualified by education or experience to treat substance use disorders;\n(b) be currently working in the substance use disorder treatment field;\n(c) review substance use disorder counselor assessment procedures and recommendations;\n(d) provide substance use disorder diagnosis and other mental health diagnoses in accordance with Subsection 58-60-102(7);\n(e) supervise the development of a treatment plan;\n(f) approve the treatment plan; and\n(g) provide direct supervision for not more than six persons, unless granted an exception in writing from the board and the division.\n(2) A licensed advanced substance use disorder counselor may act as the supervisor of a licensed substance use disorder counselor if the licensed advanced substance use disorder counselor:\n(a) has at least two years of experience as a licensed advanced substance use disorder counselor;\n(b) is currently working in the substance use disorder field; and\n(c) provides direct supervision for no more than six individuals, unless granted an exception in writing from the board and the division.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-60 Mental Health Professional Practice Act","Part 58-60-5 Substance Use Disorder Counselor Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter60/58-60-S508.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"ee8e2721e44c5237fb5d40d0bd45f667948480838ae553f00030c321bc42eb14","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-60-507","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-60-509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
