{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-67-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-67-201","heading":"Board.","body":"(1) There is created the Medical Licensing Board consisting of the following members:\n(a) seven physicians and surgeons;\n(b) two osteopathic physicians and surgeons;\n(c) a physician who is a board certified psychiatrist who currently works or previously worked collaboratively with a physician assistant;\n(d) three physician assistants, one of whom is involved in the administration of an approved physician assistant education program in the state; and\n(e) two members of the public.\n(2) The board shall be appointed and serve in accordance with Section 58-1-201.\n(3)\n(a) In addition to any duty or responsibility described in Section 58-1-202 or 58-1-203, the board shall regulate :\n(i) anesthesiologist assistants licensed under Chapter 70b, Anesthesiologist Assistant Licensing Act;\n(ii) osteopathic physicians and surgeons licensed under Chapter 68, Utah Osteopathic Medical Practice Act; and\n(iii) physician assistants licensed under Chapter 70a, Utah Physician Assistant Act.\n(b) The board may also designate one of the board's members on a permanent or rotating basis to:\n(i) assist the division in reviewing complaints concerning the conduct of a licensee the board regulates; and\n(ii) advise the division in the division's investigation of these complaints.\n(4) A board member who has, under Subsection (3), reviewed a complaint or advised in the complaint's investigation may be disqualified from participating with the board when the board serves as a presiding officer in an adjudicative proceeding concerning that complaint.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-67 Utah Medical Practice Act","Part 58-67-2 Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter67/58-67-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"7d4aca5e6ae10275ae7b7055fa754b6228287ef1c1162c30ff4402f5e2b435fd","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-67-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-67-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
