{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-9-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-9-201","heading":"Board.","body":"(1) There is created the Board of Funeral Service consisting of:\n(a) four funeral service directors who own, have an ownership interest in, or have management responsibilities for a funeral service establishment;\n(b) one preneed funeral arrangement sales agent, who does not have an ownership interest in a funeral service establishment; and\n(c) two members from the general public who have no association with the funeral service profession.\n(2) The board shall be appointed and serve in accordance with Section 58-1-201.\n(3)\n(a) The duties and responsibilities of the board shall be in accordance with Sections 58-1-202 and 58-1-203.\n(b) The board shall designate one of its members on a permanent or rotating basis to:\n(i) assist the division in reviewing complaints concerning the unlawful or unprofessional conduct of a licensee; and\n(ii) advise the division in its investigation of these complaints.\n(4) A board member who has, under Subsection (3), reviewed a complaint or advised the division in its investigation may be disqualified from participating with the board when the board serves as a presiding officer of an administrative proceeding concerning the complaint.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-9 Funeral Services Licensing Act","Part 58-9-2 Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter9/58-9-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"c1c2c70fedd7848b96fadb7c53d1f64ceff102fd4f9582cc684ec21dcd6db99b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-9-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-9-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
