{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-91-305","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-91-305","heading":"Identification of constables -- Uniform requirements.","body":"(1) An individual licensed as a constable shall:\n(a) carry a copy of the individual's license on the individual's person at all times while acting as a constable; and\n(b) display the license upon the request of a peace officer, a representative of the division, or a member of the public.\n(2) While performing a duty within the scope of practice of a constable, as described in Section 58-91-301, a constable shall prominently display a visible form of credentials and identification identifying:\n(a) the individual as a constable;\n(b) the individual's name; and\n(c) the governmental contracting entity for which the constable is acting, if applicable.\n(3) If a constable serves process, the constable shall:\n(a) verbally communicate to the person being served that the constable is a constable; and\n(b) print on the first page of each document served:\n(i) the constable's name and identification as a constable;\n(ii) the county for which the constable is appointed; and\n(iii) a business phone number for the constable.\n(4) If a constable wears a uniform, the uniform shall be clearly marked with the word \"constable\" on the uniform shirt and, if applicable, the jacket.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-91 Constables Licensing Act","Part 58-91-3 Licensing Constables"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter91/58-91-S305.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"08068c2f127214ae2cf340c2c9287cc9fe2c0beade55c1d85c17013589193f6d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-91-304","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-91-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
