{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-58-92-312","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 58-92-312","heading":"Evidence of licensure -- Identity cards.","body":"(1) When the division issues a license under this chapter, the division shall:\n(a) issue an identification card, the design of which the division shall approve by rule in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and\n(b) indicate on the identification card's face that the holder is licensed to act as a private investigator agent, a private investigator registrant, or a private investigator apprentice.\n(2) The division shall issue the identification card without charge to the licensee.\n(3) Within five days after the day on which a license terminates for any reason, the licensee shall mail or deliver a card issued under Subsection (1) to the division for cancellation.\n(4) A licensee shall carry the identification card issued under Subsection (1) while engaging in work regulated under this chapter.\n(5) A licensee shall display the license upon the request of a peace officer or a representative of the division.\n(6) Upon request by a person on whose property a licensee engaging in activities governed by this chapter, or a person acting under the authority of a person on whose property the licensee engages in activities governed by this chapter, if the licensee is employed by or contracted with a private investigation agency the licensee shall immediately identify:\n(a) the private investigation agency's name; and\n(b) the name and phone number of the private investigator agent in control of the private investigation agency.","path":["Title 58 Occupations and Professions","Chapter 58-92 Private Investigation Licensing Act","Part 58-92-3 Licensing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title58/Chapter92/58-92-S312.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"3af461a59485273fb44d836a8d33ce70d71bee1145898371ef45801fde55084d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-58-92-311","next":"us-ut/utah-code-58-92-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
