{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-17-710","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63A-17-710","heading":"Required training.","body":"(1) Each year that an administrative law judge receives a performance evaluation conducted by the division under this chapter, the administrative law judge shall complete the procedural fairness training program described in this section.\n(2) The division shall establish a procedural fairness training program that includes training on how an administrative law judge's actions and behavior influence others' perceptions of the fairness of the adjudicative process.\n(3) The procedural fairness training program shall include discussion of the following elements of procedural fairness:\n(a) neutrality, including:\n(i) consistent and equal treatment of the individuals who appear before the administrative law judge;\n(ii) concern for the individual needs of the individuals who appear before the administrative law judge; and\n(iii) unhurried and careful deliberation;\n(b) respectful treatment of others; and\n(c) providing individuals a voice and opportunity to be heard.\n(4) The division may contract with a public or private person to develop or provide the procedural fairness training program.\n(5) The division shall ensure that the procedural fairness training program complies with Title 63G, Chapter 22, State Training and Certification Requirements.","path":["Title 63A Utah Government Operations Code","Chapter 63A-17 Utah State Personnel Management Act","Part 63A-17-7 Administrative Law Judges"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63A/Chapter17/63A-17-S710.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"4861d617dae3aa332788d7db1a63a289f681c7152bbb950d45ec3aba33506c49","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-17-709","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-17-801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
