{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-19-202","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63A-19-202","heading":"Governing board duties.","body":"(1) The governing board shall:\n(a) recommend changes to the state data privacy policy;\n(b) hear issues raised by the ombudsperson regarding existing governmental entity privacy practices;\n(c) evaluate and recommend the appropriate:\n(i) structure and placement for the office within state government; and\n(ii) authority to be granted to the office, including any authority to make rules; and\n(d) recommend funding mechanisms and strategies for governmental entities to enable compliance with data privacy responsibilities, including:\n(i) appropriations;\n(ii) rates;\n(iii) grants; and\n(iv) internal service funds.\n(2) In fulfilling the duties under this part, the governing board may receive and request input from:\n(a) governmental entities;\n(b) elected officials;\n(c) subject matter experts; and\n(d) other stakeholders.","path":["Title 63A Utah Government Operations Code","Chapter 63A-19 Government Data Privacy Act","Part 63A-19-2 Utah Privacy Governing Board And Utah Privacy Commission"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63A/Chapter19/63A-19-S202.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d0db80a1175de90cec5da28eda6ad06e5177d5c520f33dd1bec25c3b0bb7ae60","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-19-201","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-19-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
