{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-5b-1206","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63A-5b-1206","heading":"Mandatory technical compliance requirements.","body":"(1) The division shall establish and enforce specific technical standards including:\n(a) fire wall construction and continuity requirements as described in International Building Code, Chapter 7;\n(b) accessibility compliance verification procedures as described in International Code Council A117.1;\n(c) energy code inspection protocols with mandatory R-value verification;\n(d) mechanical, plumbing, and electrical system review depth requirements;\n(e) special inspection requirements for both structural and nonstructural elements; and\n(f) structural observation reporting mandates for Risk Category III buildings as defined in the International Building Code adopted under Section 15A-1-204.\n(2) The division may not issue a construction permit without verified compliance with Subsection (1).\n(3) The division shall use qualified plan reviewers and inspectors from the roster established under Section 63A-5b-1220 for all plan review and inspection activities.\n(4) Requirements related to safety and security standards established under Section 53-22-102 shall be coordinated through the school construction liaison as provided in Subsection 63A-5b-1202(6).\n(5) A school district may appeal technical compliance determinations under this section to the appeals panel established under Section 63A-5b-1221.","path":["Title 63A Utah Government Operations Code","Chapter 63A-5b Administration of State Facilities","Part 63A-5b-12 Public School Construction Oversight"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63A/Chapter5b/63A-5b-S1206.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"4ace60f251db369a585c0e643de9d85ec0968c08c296e5e71afb22619a696d09","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-5b-1205","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-5b-1207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
