{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-5b-703","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63A-5b-703","heading":"Agency lease payments.","body":"(1)\n(a) Beginning July 1, 2020, the division shall implement a program to charge agencies, except institutions of higher education, lease payments for the agency's use and occupancy of space within a building.\n(b) Before July 1, 2020, the division shall:\n(i) conduct a market analysis of market lease rates for comparable space in buildings comparable to division-owned buildings; and\n(ii) establish lease rates for an agency's use and occupancy of a division-owned building.\n(c) The lease rates shall be:\n(i) consistent with market rates for comparable space in comparable buildings;\n(ii) calculated to cover:\n(A) an amortized amount for capital replacement;\n(B) an amount for capital improvements; and\n(C) operation and maintenance costs; and\n(iii) in proportion to legislative appropriations.\n(2) In making appropriations to cover lease payments under this section, the Legislature shall create a line item, as defined in Section 63J-1-102, for each agency to fund the lease payments.","path":["Title 63A Utah Government Operations Code","Chapter 63A-5b Administration of State Facilities","Part 63A-5b-7 Operation and Maintenance"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63A/Chapter5b/63A-5b-S703.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"768aed9f1f0fb1e5f4bf7154906a13c3fbaad4e7b1f6b21c47999b49615ca7bf","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-5b-702","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63a-5b-801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
