{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63g-22-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63G-22-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Political subdivision\" means:\n(a) a county;\n(b) a municipality, as defined in Section 10-1-104;\n(c) a special district;\n(d) a special service district;\n(e) an interlocal entity, as defined in Section 11-13-103;\n(f) a community reinvestment agency;\n(g) a local building authority; or\n(h) a conservation district.\n(2)\n(a) \"Public employee\" means any individual employed by or volunteering for a state agency or a political subdivision who is not a public official.\n(b) \"Public employee\" does not include an individual employed by or volunteering for a taxed interlocal entity.\n(3)\n(a) \"Public official\" means:\n(i) an appointed official or an elected official as those terms are defined in Section 63A-17-502; or\n(ii) an individual elected or appointed to a county office, municipal office, school board or school district office, special district office, or special service district office.\n(b) \"Public official\" does not include an appointed or elected official of a taxed interlocal entity.\n(4) \"State agency\" means a department, division, board, council, committee, institution, office, bureau, or other similar administrative unit of the executive branch of state government.\n(5) \"Taxed interlocal entity\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 11-13-602.","path":["Title 63G General Government","Chapter 63G-22 State Training and Certification Requirements"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63G/Chapter22/63G-22-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"b150f9fe538823cccd57ba2621c23333d857b3fb0972162c1734fea3f3cac446","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63g-22-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63g-22-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
