{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63g-27-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63G-27-201","heading":"Prohibition on contracting.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Subsection (3), a public entity may not enter into a contract with a company to acquire or dispose of a good or service, including supplies, information technology, or construction services, unless:\n(a) the contract includes a written certification that the company is not currently engaged in:\n(i) a boycott of the State of Israel; or\n(ii) an economic boycott;\n(b) the company agrees not to engage in a boycott of the State of Israel for the duration of the contract; and\n(c) the company agrees to notify the public entity in writing if the company begins engaging in an economic boycott.\n(2) A company's notice under Subsection (1)(c) may be grounds for termination of the contract.\n(3) This section does not:\n(a) apply to:\n(i) a contract with a total value of less than $100,000; or\n(ii) a contract with a company that has fewer than 10 full-time employees; or\n(b) prohibit a public entity from entering into a contract with a company that engages in an economic boycott if:\n(i) there is no economically practicable alternative available to the public entity to:\n(A) acquire or dispose of the good or service; or\n(B) meet the public entity's legal duties to issue, incur, or manage debt obligations, or deposit, keep custody of, manage, borrow, or invest funds; or\n(ii) the company engages in the economic boycott to comply with federal law.","path":["Title 63G General Government","Chapter 63G-27 Public Contract Boycott Restrictions","Part 63G-27-2 Prohibitions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63G/Chapter27/63G-27-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"24a2c900f4f0934925c713a69241520250cf1895b576aabcbec8e47f6a075237","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63g-27-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63g-27-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
