{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63l-2-202","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63L-2-202","heading":"Federal impacts related to critical mineral deposits.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Critical mineral deposit\" means a deposit of a mineral, element, substance, or material designated as critical by the Secretary of the Interior in accordance with 30 U.S.C. Sec. 1606.\n(b) \"Federal designation\" means the designation of a:\n(i) national monument;\n(ii) national conservation area;\n(iii) wilderness area or wilderness study area;\n(iv) area of critical environmental concern;\n(v) research natural area; or\n(vi) national recreation area.\n(2) The Legislature requests that a federal agency, including the president of the United States, consult with the state before implementing, announcing, or planning a federal designation that may impact the exploration or development of a critical mineral deposit in the state.","path":["Title 63L Lands","Chapter 63L-2 Transfer of State Lands to United States Government and Federal Designations","Part 63L-2-2 Procedures for Acquisition of Property"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63L/Chapter2/63L-2-S202.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"60a7c66c26c7437e63c6017193df7acf6648e24c36d23c8c746c510e3b9d323b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63l-2-201","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63l-2-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
