{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-63n-16-403","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 63N-16-403","heading":"Registry application -- Certificate -- Renewal -- Removal -- Notice.","body":"(1)\n(a) Subject to Subsection (1)(b), an applicant for placement on the registry shall provide to the regulatory relief office:\n(i) an application in a form prescribed by the regulatory relief office; and\n(ii) a fee established by the regulatory relief office in accordance with Section 63J-1-504.\n(b) The application shall include:\n(i) a place for the name of the applicant, including any trade name used by the applicant in the conduct of the applicant's business;\n(ii) a place for a description of the activities conducted by the applicant in the state;\n(iii) a place for the applicant to list the applicant's:\n(A) authorized agents in the state, if any; and\n(B) website URL;\n(iv) a description of general noncustodial blockchain company activities;\n(v) a place for the applicant to acknowledge that the applicant is a noncustodial blockchain company; and\n(vi) a statement notifying the applicant that the applicant may be removed from the registry if the applicant:\n(A) ceases to operate as a noncustodial blockchain company; or\n(B) engages in unlawful activity.\n(2)\n(a) Upon receipt of the application and fee described in Subsection (1), the regulatory relief office shall:\n(i) place the applicant on the registry; and\n(ii) issue a certificate of registration to the applicant.\n(b) A noncustodial blockchain company's registration expires one year after the day on which the noncustodial blockchain company is placed on the registry.\n(c) A noncustodial blockchain company may renew the noncustodial blockchain company's registration by providing to the regulatory relief office:\n(i) a renewal application in a form prescribed by the regulatory relief office; and\n(ii) a renewal fee established by the regulatory relief office in accordance with Section 63J-1-504.\n(3) A registered noncustodial blockchain company:\n(a) shall immediately provide written notice to the regulatory relief office upon ceasing to operate as a noncustodial blockchain company; and\n(b) may request removal from the registry in writing.\n(4) The regulatory relief office shall remove a registered noncustodial blockchain company from the registry if:\n(a) the noncustodial blockchain company's registration expires without renewal;\n(b) the noncustodial blockchain company provides the notice or request described in Subsection (3); or\n(c) the regulatory relief office knows or has reason to know the noncustodial blockchain company is engaging in unlawful activity.","path":["Title 63N Economic Opportunity Act","Chapter 63N-16 Utah Office of Regulatory Relief","Part 63N-16-4 Noncustodial Blockchain Registry"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title63N/Chapter16/63N-16-S403.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"a11879bd71bf35696454890b0b96f6f4db0ed25dd09c8661d4a2eb2ce24266b1","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-63n-16-402","next":"us-ut/utah-code-63n-18-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
