{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-67-1-18","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 67-1-18","heading":"Gubernatorial appointees -- Change in title.","body":"(1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning on May 6, 2026, the following gubernatorial appointees holding the title of executive director or director shall hold the title of commissioner:\n(a) the director of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services, appointed under Section 32B-2-205;\n(b) the executive director of the Department of Commerce, appointed under Section 13-1-3;\n(c) the executive director of the Department of Corrections, appointed under Section 64-13-3;\n(d) the executive director of the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement, appointed under Section 9-1-201.1;\n(e) the executive director of the Department of Environmental Quality, appointed under Section 19-1-104;\n(f) the executive director of the Department of Government Operations, appointed under Section 63A-1-105;\n(g) the executive director of the Department of Health and Human Services, appointed under Section 26B-1-203;\n(h) the executive director of the Department of Natural Resources, appointed under Section 79-2-202;\n(i) the executive director of the Department of Transportation, appointed under Section 72-1-202;\n(j) the executive director of the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs, appointed under Section 71A-1-201;\n(k) the executive director of the Department of Workforce Services, appointed under Section 35A-1-201;\n(l) the executive director of the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, appointed under Section 63N-1a-302; and\n(m) the executive director of the State Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, appointed under Section 63M-7-203.\n(2) Other than with respect to the change in title, this section does not alter the duties, compensation, or authority of a gubernatorial appointee described in Subsection (1).","path":["Title 67 State Officers and Employees","Chapter 67-1 Governor"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title67/Chapter1/67-1-S18.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"155c7ae416c30ec45d6365da00e9f809d427fef8ec70ee7975a78d13633aba17","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-67-1-15","next":"us-ut/utah-code-67-1a-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
