{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-67-5-31","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 67-5-31","heading":"Mortgage and Financial Fraud Investigation and Prosecution Restricted Account.","body":"(1) There is created a restricted account within the General Fund known as the \"Mortgage and Financial Fraud Investigation and Prosecution Restricted Account.\"\n(2) The restricted account includes:\n(a) $2,000,000 of deposits from the foreclosure fraud settlement agreement between the United States Justice Department, United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, and a bipartisan group of state attorneys general, including Utah's attorney general, Bank of America, Citi, JP Morgan Chase, GMAC, and Wells Fargo announced in February 2012; and\n(b) any other amount appropriated by the Legislature.\n(3) Money from the restricted account shall be used by the attorney general to:\n(a) investigate and prosecute mortgage and financial fraud throughout the state; and\n(b) fund mortgage and financial fraud investigation and prosecution staff.","path":["Title 67 State Officers and Employees","Chapter 67-5 Attorney General"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title67/Chapter5/67-5-S31.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:34Z","sha256":"722dd0a37e8c928965608fb0879aa84b91119005798b58287117b687c438ebe2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-67-5-30","next":"us-ut/utah-code-67-5-32"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
